On October 25, 2023, the second working meeting of the third session of the EPTC Substation Expert Working Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "special committee") was successfully concluded in Suzhou. More than 80 representatives from the chairperson, deputy chairperson, members and member units of the special committee attended the meeting.

The purpose of this meeting was to further enhance the professional service capabilities of the substation professional working committee, carry out various work efficiently and standardize, and promote the innovation and development of substation professional technology. The meeting read out the list of members of the third EPTC substation expert working committee and issued the certificates of director and deputy director; read out the "Third Substation Expert Working Committee Working Rules"; reviewed and discussed the key work plan of the EPTC substation expert working committee for 2023-2024.

At the meeting, Xie Xiaodong, chairperson of the third power substation committee, gave an inaugural speech. Director Xie Xiaodong said that the special committee has accumulated a lot of work results under the unremitting efforts of all members. The new special committee will continue to strengthen the industry authority and social influence of the special committee under the leadership of the EPTC power technology cooperation platform, and strive to build the special committee into the most influential high-level and professional think tank service platform in the field of power substation technology.

At the meeting, all the members focused on the "EPTC Substation Expert Working Committee Key Work Plan 2023-2024", and discussed the specific work plan and related work arrangements in accordance with the substation comprehensive technology group, intelligent operation and maintenance technology group, power equipment infrared technology group, artificial intelligence algorithm and digital twin technology group, and maintenance and testing technology group.

Secretary-General Tian Xiaohua focused on the launch of various series of work and related start-up work. He said that the secretariat of the special committee, as a bridge and link, welcomes experts and professional and technical personnel as well as technical workers from various provinces to participate in various research and thematic work. At the same time, Secretary-General Tian also posted scripts for the completion process of each work.

At the meeting, all members of the new substation committee further clarified that they will continue to uphold the responsibility and mission of the special committee, continue to carry out "research, consultation, exchange, service" and other work, serve the construction of the power system and the intelligent and digital development of the power grid, serve the professional development of the substation and the development needs of the industry, and jointly write a new chapter in the digital and intelligent innovation and development of the substation.

Finally, Director Xie Xiaodong made a concluding speech. He emphasized two aspects, one is to focus on needs and solve problems. The special committee should seize opportunities, effectively combine needs, coordinate professionalism, focus on problems and difficulties existing in on-site applications, and solve practical problems. The second is to strengthen communication and sharing, information sharing, and cooperation. All members should combine the work platform, their positions, and their own work development direction, and then combine the work plan of the special committee to fully coordinate and share resources and information. At the same time, he suggested that the special committee needs to further integrate relevant resources and achievements, share experts, and lead experts to actively participate in relevant work. As a connectivity platform for power grid enterprises, suppliers and universities, the special committee needs to carry out typical work in multiple dimensions and angles, solve typical work needs, and form typical work cases. It is hoped that all members will actively develop, actively support, and actively contribute under the leadership and assistance of the platform and the special committee, and actively form results.
